Geoffrey's nephews at Gulu. Geoffrey was kidnapped by rebels when he was 12 and spent the next five years being forced to work for them and being beaten on various ocassions. He managed to escape one day when he was sent out to find food for the rebels and found refuge at GUSCO, the centre run by Save the Children. Today, Geoffrey is re-united with his family and has also returned to school. Since 1994 Save the Children has supported a centre for former child soldiers in Gulu in the northern part of Uganda. The centre provides the children with medical attention, counseling, education and helps them reunite with their families.
